A Mangawhai Lifestyle

Mangawhai is a thriving seaside locality just 80-minutes north of Auckland. From the deep-water estuary, dramatic sand dunes, popular surf beach and ‘crocodile rocks’ framing the harbour and ocean, to the incredible clifftop walk - ours is a diverse natural playground.

Mangawhai means ‘stream of the stingray’ a theme that is evident in its estuary and reflected in local art and architecture.

This coastal and country town is filled with progressive people, business owners, boutique retailers, clever makers, tireless volunteers, happy commuters - a community that values its people and place. Offering something for every age and stage, residents set the pace to suit. Relaxed or action-packed, from boating, golfing, surfing, hiking, imbibing and dining – the options are endless.

Firmly on the map as a desirable place to live, Mangawhai Village sits on the south-west of the harbour and Mangawhai Heads on the north-east, both linked by a causeway. Mangawhai Heads Beach is just a 10-minute drive from Lake View Estate and is patrolled in summer by voluntary lifeguards.
